Physical Health: Immune Health

How does the gut affect the immune system?
- With 70-80% of the immune cells residing in the gut, there is a strong connection between the microbiome and our immunity.
-
Lactobacillus salivarius and L. plantarum, found in plants, fermented foods and within our bodies, can enhance immune response by binding to receptors on immune cells and other tissues.
-
Lactobacilli have been successfully shown to stimulate immunity, reduce inflammatory diseases and enhance barrier functions.
