Now that many people are busy eradicating their carnival sins and doing more good for their bodies, this conversation partner comes at just the right time for me. Lyudmyla Kovalenko was born in Ukraine, lives in Munich and, as she tells me in the small Café Bambule, founded a start-up in 2022. Her company is about something that, as a native Ukrainian, is probably more familiar to her than most people in this country: fermentation. With the invention of the refrigerator, this form of food preservation was almost forgotten and so was its health-promoting aspect.
